Divorce appraisals
An independent value for the marital home, ordered by you, your spouse or either attorney. Current value or a retrospective date of separation.
Common reasons to order
- Splitting equity or buying out a spouse
- Settlement talks and mediation
- Current value or value at the date of separation
- Reports both sides can review
What you get
- One appraiser working for the intended users named in the engagement letter
- Current or retrospective value, as your attorney needs
- A signed report from an Illinois Certified Residential Appraiser
- Scheduling that works with both spouses for access
How it works
- Send a request online or call. Al calls you back with the fee and the first opening.
- You sign an engagement agreement that sets the intended use, users, scope, fee, cancellation and delivery terms before any work starts. Payment is due before the inspection unless alternative terms are agreed to in writing.
- Al inspects and measures the home.
- You get a signed report.

Questions
Who should order the appraisal?
Either spouse or either attorney can. The engagement letter names who the report is for, so ask your attorney who should be listed.
Can both spouses be at the inspection?
Yes. We only need access to the home. We don't discuss value at the inspection.
